The 1st International Scientific School-Conference “Atom. Science. Technologies”, dedicated to the Day of Science of Kazakhstan, was held on 14-16 of April in the Institute of Nuclear Physics. The leading Kazakhstan and foreign scientists related to the topic of the conference participated in this event, holding a scientific school for the young scientists and specialists in order to review the latest results of scientific research on the topic of the conference, discuss the progress and research results of the young scientists. 76 participants from 17 profile organizations of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia took part in the conference.

The conference was held online, 64 reports were heard in 5 sections within the framework of the school:
- Nuclear physics – 12 reports
- Materials science and the technologies of new materials – 14 reports
- Radiation ecology and the methods of analysis – 17 reports
- Physics and technology of nuclear reactors – 9 reports
- Nuclear and radiation technologies in medicine, industry and agriculture – 6 reports.
Upon completion of the conference, the Collection of Abstracts will be published; the materials of reports, recommended by the organizing committee, will be published in the journals indexed by the Kazakhstan database:
- Bulletin of the NNC;
- Bulletin of KazNU, physical, geographical series;
- International Journal of Mathematics and Physics.
Also, during the conference, the proposals were made to establish the collaborations with the TPU Engineering School of Nuclear Technologies and the Tomsk National Research Medical Center in staff training and exchange of experience. There were also proposals to make this conference annual.
