From February 10th to 14th, a technical visit to Vienna was held for the Women in Nuclear in Central Asia (WINCA) and Black Sea Women in Nuclear (BSWN) professional networks at the invitation of the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP).

The meeting was organized by the James Martin Center for Non-Proliferation Studies (CNS) with the support of the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) and Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Tour participants held a series of briefings with non-proliferation and nuclear safety experts from Vienna and also visited The TRIGA Mark II reactor is situated at the Atominstitut of the TU Wien, as well as international organizations such as the IAEA, CTBTO, and others.

The purpose of the visit was to introduce a wide range of stakeholders in non-proliferation policy and nuclear security research to the BSWN and WINCA networks, establish dialogue and professional exchange with international organizations, and deepen understanding of the global legal framework for non-proliferation and the nuclear security architecture, as well as the interactions between technology, diplomacy, and law. and share knowledge and best practices in the field of nuclear safety in the Black Sea and Central Asian regions.
