On 17-28 of September, the specialists of the Joint Institute of Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna) visited the Institute of Nuclear Physics on a regular visit under the Joint Research Program for Development of the Methods of Neutron Activation Analysis at the reactor WWR-K, funded within the grant from the RK Plenipotentiary Representative at JINR.

Jointly with the staff of the Center of Complex Ecological Research, the automatic samples changer was installed, capable to store up to 45 samples for gamma spectrometry and automatically transfer them for measurements indicating the required parameters (measurement time, distance from the detector, etc.). In the future, it is planned to use this unit for neutron activation analysis.

Within the cooperation framework, the experts from the CERC and the Joint Institute of Nuclear Research performed the joint studies of the samples using the method of neutron activation analysis.

During the visit the specialists discussed the plans on further cooperation, including extended application of the capabilities of the research reactor WWR-K for fulfilling various analytical tasks.
