From April 1 to April 12, at the invitation of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), a technical visit was held by the professional networks Black Sea Women in Nuclear (BSWN) and Women in Nuclear in Central Asia (WINCA), which were created with the support of the Women's Nuclear Initiative safety of the US Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) and Los Alamos National University Laboratory (LANL).

The purpose of this visit was to introduce the BSWN and WINCA networks to a broad range of stakeholders in the US policy and scientific communities, engage in dialogue and professional exchange with colleagues on the latest developments in nuclear safety and related fields, and share best practices in advancing diversity, equity policies, inclusion and accessibility in the workplace.

The visit program included two modules: from April 2 to 6 in Washington and a module in New Mexico from April 7 to 13. The Washington program consisted of a series of briefings with US government officials and the NGO community. The second module included visits to the unique Los Alamos and Sandia National Nuclear Laboratories, where participants had ample opportunities to interact with laboratory staff and scientists.

The Association's director, T.A. Seifullina, took part in the Kazakhstan delegation.
