Currently, the Union includes thirteen public organizations of veterans-nuclear specialists from eleven countries. The IUVNEI is the only veteran organization accredited at the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In April 2022, The IUVNEI and the Union of Veterans of Armenia held a conference dedicated to the issues of public acceptability of nuclear energy at the site of the Armenian NPP.
