JSC NAC Kazatomprom and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation(ENEC) are pleased to announce the execution of a Memorandum of Understanding in Astana on the 5th of September, 2017.

This MOU reflects the intent by the parties to extend the strong relationship between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear fuel and power generation.

The MOU covers the supply of natural uranium to UAE nuclear energy plants as well as the potential for future cooperation in the areas of fuel fabrication, the exchange of expertise in nuclear energy plant construction and other areas of the nuclear fuel cycle.

The MOU was signed by Galymzhan Pirmatov, CEO of Kazatomprom andEng. Mohamed Al Hammadi, CEO of ENEC.

Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation was established inthe UAE in December 2009 with a goal to develop the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program. ENEC is currently constructing the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in the UAE. ENEC is working to deliver safe, clean, efficient and reliable electricity to the United Arab Emirates - energy that is needed to support the UAE’s social and economic growth.
