The Institute of Nuclear Physics (hereinafter – INP) of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan has become a participant of the international COMET collaboration experiment, performed at the accelerating complex J-PARC in Japan. The Letter of Approval was received from the Management staff of the Collaboration Board for J-PARC COMET experiment, confirming the participation of INP in this collaboration.

In the framework of the COMET experiment, a very rare process of elementary particles physics is being pursued: the transition of an elementary particle (muon) to another elementary particle (electron). Such process has never been observed before and can become a major breakthrough in the physics of elementary particles.
