«Veterans’ experience is a guarantee of continuity
of generations in the nuclear industry».

On May 19, 2022, the III Congress of Veterans of the Nuclear Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan (VNSEI*) was held in Almaty. It brought together representatives of primary veteran organizations from uranium mining, processing, scientific and educational enterprises of our country, which are the members of the Association «Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan», as well as guests from the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.

The Congress of veterans was opened by the President of the «Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan», Professor V.S. Shkolnik. In his speech, Vladimir Sergeyevich reminded the veterans gathered on this day about the goals and objectives of the organization and its role in educating the youth of the Republic.

 

In the first part of the congress, the participants were presented with a report «On the work in 2018-2022» by the Chairman of the Council of the VNSEI Burkurmanov B.Sh. As part of the discussion of this report, the following participants spoke:

  • Aubakirov H.B. – veteran of the nuclear industry, honorary professor of KazNTU named after K.I. Satpayev;
  • Kim G.G. – Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Baiken-U LLP;
  • Nyshambayev A.K. – Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Kyzylkum LLP.

Welcoming the delegates, the guests of the congress shared their work experience:

  • Duisebayev B.O., work experience of the International Union (IUVNEI);
  • Ognev V.A., work experience of IPMV NEI SC «Rosatom».

More than 20 veterans of the industry were awarded with honorary badges, medals and certificates of the nuclear industry.

In the second part of the Congress, the election of the Chairman of the Council was held and a new list of members of the Council was chosen: by a majority of votes, Ibrayev Baurzhan Mukhtarkhanovich was elected Chairman of the Council of the VNSEI.

The speech of Aliyev S.A., Director of the ICAT YD NSK, who told in his speech about the experience of the Youth department of the «Nuclear Society» with the veteran industry movement ended with a demonstration of a film about the nuclear industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the end of the Congress, testimonial dinner was held, all participants of the Congress received souvenirs about the event from the Association «Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan».

The Association «Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan» expresses its deep gratitude to the administration of KBTU** for assistance in holding the Congress of Veterans of the industry.
