On July 18th , at 2.00 p.m hours (11.00 Moscow time), the Kazakhstan branch of the international organization Women of the Nuclear Industry (WiN Kazakhstan) is inviting everyone to participate in an online webinar on the topic: “Radioecological Situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

Our speaker is Varvara Makarova.

Short CV: 

— Head of the Laboratory of Environmental Engineering at the Institute of Nuclear Physics;
— Expert in the field of development of a methodology for studying radiation hazardous objects, as well as the development and implementation of monitoring on them;
— Participant of the project "Comprehensive survey and monitoring of LIRA facilities";
— Participant in conducting scientific research on a comprehensive survey of the territory of military test sites and the regions adjacent to it to determine their environmental status (AZGIR);

The total experience in this area is 15 years.

This will be an interesting conversation with an environmental engineer, in which we learn about the environmental situation and the current state of various nuclear facilities of the former USSR in the territory of modern Kazakhstan.
